Nature's Theater

About Nature's Theater

Nature’s Theater was conceived as an outdoor stage in a casual setting – a place where the cultural diversity of our community and its artists can be celebrated; an opportunity for world renowned performers to share their talents with others; a unique theater which expands our horizons and enriches the creative imaginations of our young people.

This magnificent, yet practical outdoor theater showcases the integration of art, nature and technology. Built on a sloping hill nestled in a forest landscape, it is deliberately designed to allow performing artists to em- brace not only the audience, but all of nature as well. Similarly, audiences will experience the exhilarating combination of the arts while connecting with the environment.

The three-story facility includes: ••a covered stage ••fixed seating for 500 people and lawn seating for another 500 ••a treetop event space ••dressing rooms and a green room ••concession area and restrooms.

Nature’s Theater will be the crowning jewel of Saluda Shoals Park.

“This project will be a game changer for the entire region provid- ing moving experiences for audiences, artists and anyone who has ever walked in the woods and heard music from the birds, seen art made unintentionally by tree branches or noticed how the wind makes things dance, how the sheer immensity of quiet sounds like a beautiful soliloquy. That's Nature's Theater.” Larry Hembree, Executive Director, Trustus Theater
