Afternoon Safari provides a safe and nurturing environment and offers a variety of opportunities for children to grow physically, socially and academically. The daily schedule includes an afternoon snack, recess, supervised homework time, social recreation and physical education. Children are grouped by grades. Activities include arts & crafts, reading, character building exercises, guest speakers and organized games. Special programming opportunities include computer lab access (where available), intergenerational programming, and lessons/classes.
Afternoon Safari is offered at Seven Oaks Park in conjunction with Leaphart Elementary School, Crooked Creek Park, Oak Pointe Elementary School and Ballentine Elementary School.
Transportation is provided to Afternoon Safari participants from Chapin & Lake Murray Elementary Elementary to Crooked Creek Park and from Seven Oaks Elementary School to Leaphart Elementary School and Seven Oaks Park.
