Charley's Backyard Treasure Hunt

Saluda Shoals Park is an exciting place in which you can have many different adventures all year long. Throughout the year anyone can come to Saluda Shoals Park to participate in Charley’s Back Yard Treasure Hunt .

Once you have entered the park come to the Environmental Education Center (EEC). The attendant in the EEC will give you your free Charley’s Back Yard Treasure Hunt map. Find a comfortable place in the park to decide how you want to achieve the goals for your visit. You can check off many or a few places of interest each time you visit Saluda Shoals Park.

All adventurers should pack a backpack with the following items.:

  • A pencil
  • Binoculars. We have a pair for you to borrow. Just leave a Drivers License
  • Camera
  • Water
  • A healthy snack bar
  • A compass (optional)
  • A small note book (optional)
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellant
  • A small pack of disinfectant wipes

What to wear:

  • Wear sturdy lace up shoes  and socks during your adventures (no Flip Flops)
  • A sun hat

Parking Fees Apply: $4R/$5NR – During the month of June, 2007 the parking fee will be waived for those treasure seekers that have a Charley Pass. To acquire your Charley Pass, go to www.charleyscolumbiabackyard.com.  Simply give your tear off coupon to the parking attendant and you’re ready to get started on your first adventure in Saluda Shoals Park.
