Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission Update on Park Opening – Effective May 1, 2020
Beginning Friday, May 1 at 8:00 a.m., the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission (ICRC) plans to reopen outdoor trails and greenspace at Crooked Creek Park, Melvin Park, Mungo Park, Saluda Shoals Park, and Seven Oaks Park, as well as the boat ramps at Saluda Shoals Park.
- Saluda Shoals Park will be open from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. daily and Fisherman's Pass holders will be allowed 24-hour access to the park beginning at 12:00 a.m. on May 1, 2020. The dog park is now open as well as restrooms on the west end of Saluda Shoals Park. Canoe, Kayak, tube and bike rentals are being offered but no shuttle service is available at this time.
- Due to the difficulty of effectively cleaning facilities and equipment as well as meeting social distancing guidelines, community buildings, meeting facilities, picnic shelters, playgrounds, and restrooms at Seven Oaks Park and Crooked Creek Park will remain closed at this time.
- All programs and events schedule for the month of May will be cancelled or rescheduled.
- Meals-on-Wheels food delivery will continue.
Park visitors are encouraged to practice hand hygiene, social distancing, and bring their own hand sanitizer and water bottles.
ICRC will continue to monitor the situation to ensure compliance with SCDHEC and CDC guidelines. We will communicate additional updates through our website at www.icrc.net, and through our Parks and the ICRC facebook pages.
