Backyard Saturdays - Litterbug Heros Clean Up Day

Saturday, September 5, 2020 - 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Join us for Backyard Saturdays. Through play, families can experience nature at Saluda Shoals Park. Each program will celebrate a nature awareness day through fun activities to do, cool biofacts to investigate, and an explorative hike through Saluda Shoals Park. For information or to join our Backyard Buddies mailing list, email rkennerly@icrc.net.

Hi Backyard Buddies!

The easiest way to help out the Earth is to reduce litter! You can do that by NOT littering and by participating in litter pick-ups in your community.

We are celebrating World Clean Up Day on September 5th and welcoming all of our friends to join us at the Saluda Shoals Park and do a Litterbug Heroes Clean Up!

How to Participate:

Register Here!

  • Sign Up with this form and visit Saluda Shoals Park on Saturday, September 5th.
  • Pick up your Litterbug Heroes Tool Kit at our Backyard Saturday tent from 1 pm to 3 pm. The tent will be located at in front of the Environmental Education Center.
  • Hit the trails! Enjoy the park and help keep our world clean!
  • Drop off the litter and return your tool kit! Bring back everything you clean up and we will dispose of it properly. We ask that you bring the tool kit and litter back to the Environmental Education Center by 7 pm. Designated drop off site will be explained in your tool kit packet.
  •  Earn your Litterbug Heroes Badge! Thank you for participating. We encourage you to take photos and use #saludashoalspark #litterbugheroes to be featured on your social media!
  • Can't visit the park? Still participate on your own where ever you are and use our World Clean Up Day hashtags!

Safety Tips:

  1. Follow current COVID-19 guidelines.
  2. Go with a buddy!
