Nutrition Sites
Nutritious meals and social activities are offered at Crooked Creek Park and Seven Oaks Park Monday through Friday for adults ages 60 and older. Transportation is also available to meal sites for individuals that qualify (based on volunteer availability).
Home Delivered Meals
ICRC's Meals on Wheels program strives to help homebound seniors combat food insecurity and social isolation. The daily hot meal and social interaction provided by our staff and volunteers helps reduce participants feelings loneliness and improves their social well-being, which is an important factor in maintaining mental and physical health as we age. Senior who qualify can receive a hot nutritious meal delivered by volunteers Monday-Friday.
Meals on Wheels is a need- based program (qualification is not based on income) available to adults (ages 60 and older) who are experiencing any of the following:
- Homebound
- Have a chronic illness
- Disabled
- Poor nutrition score ( Central Midlands COG assesses each candidate)
- Isolated
- Unable to leave home unassisted
- Unable to prepare/purchase food
- At risk for institutionalization
