Travel & Excursions
Enjoy an adventure with the senior travelers! Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission trips are specifically designed for individuals ages 50 and older, but are open to anyone over age 18. Anyone under 18 years must be approved by the Recreation Commission prior to registration. Register over the phone or at the front desk in Crooked Creek Park or Seven Oaks Park. Day Trips
All senior travel registration can be done online at icrc.net, by calling the parks front desk, or by calling Susie Elgin at 803-772-3336.
Plantations, Pits, and the Past
Tour the historic Rosehill Plantation, enjoy classic local cooking at Midway BBQ, and explore rich artifacts and stories at the Union County Museum. Depart: SOP 9:15 a.m., CCP 10:00 a.m.; Return CCP 4:30 p.m., SOP 5:15 p.m.

Harrah's
Do some gaming at Harrah's Cherokee Casino or just get away for a day in the mountains of North Carolina. Enjoy a dutch treat lunch at one of Harrah's restaurants. Depart: SOP 7:00 a.m., CCP 7:45am. Reture: CCP 6:00 p.m., SOP 6:45 p.m.

Fort Mills Strawberry Festival
The festival features live music, amusement rides, a car show, children's entertainment, pig races, arts and crafts vendors, and eating contests (strawberry shortcake, ice cream, hot wings). Depart: CCP 8:00 a.m., SOP 8:45 a.m.; Return: SOP 3:00 p.m., CCP 4:00 p.m.

Greenwood Festival of Flowers
The premier attraction showcases 50+ live topiaries—including safari animals and college mascots—displayed throughout Uptown Greenwood in June. Enjoy 30+ local arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, and live entertainment. Depart: SOP 8:00 a.m., CCP 8:45 a.m.; Return: CCP 3:15 p.m., SOP 4:00 p.m.

Pageland Watermelon Festival
Enjoy a Saturday at the annual Pageland Watermelon Festival! Sample fresh watermelon, cheer on eating and seed-spitting contests, and catch the parade along McGregor Street. Plus, enjoy carnival rides, a car show, food trucks, and craft vendors. Depart: CCP 8:00 a.m., SOP 8:45 a.m.; Return: SOP 3:15 p.m., CCP 4:00 p.m.

Welcome To Folly Day Trip
Enjoy miles of sandy shoreline perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and beachcombing. Walk the Folly Beach Pier, stretching 1,000+ feet into the Atlantic with fishing stations, shaded areas, restrooms, and Pier 101 Restaurant & Bar. Then explore local shops along Center Street for unique finds. Depart: CCP 7:00 a.m., SOP 7:45 a.m.; Return: SOP 6:00 p.m., CCP 6:45 p.m.

Overnight and Extended Trips
If you love to get out of town, then join us for some of our overnight or extended trips. Some overnight trips are provided directly by Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission, but some are offered through tour companies like Diamond Tours and Collette Vacations.
