As the holiday season approaches, Saluda Shoals Park transforms into a dazzling wonderland, captivating families with millions of sparkling lights. This year, visitors can immerse themselves in a festive atmosphere featuring colorful, animated displays that stretch over three magical miles. Here’s what you can expect during your visit!
Holiday Lights Activities
Included with admission, a variety of activities will keep the whole family entertained:
- Palmetto Smiles Winter Wonder Dual Tube Slides: Feel the thrill as you slide down the winter wonder tube slide, a perfect treat for kids and the young at heart.
- Hayride and Train Ride: Take a leisurely hayride or hop aboard the Saluda Shoals train to explore the enchanting light displays from a unique perspective.
- Laser Light Show: Don’t miss the spectacular laser light show on the Wetland Trail, a highlight that brings the spirit of the season to life.
- Letter to Santa: Get creative by coloring and decorating a letter to Santa, adding a personal touch to your holiday experience.
Please note that activities will not be available on Thanksgiving night, Christmas Eve, and Christmas night, so plan your visit accordingly!
Gift Shop and Concessions
The holiday spirit extends beyond lights and activities! Stop by Santa's Claus'et Gift Shop for unique holiday shopping, where you can find special gifts for loved ones. And while you're there, indulge in some delicious concessions for purchase to enhance your festive outing.
Meet Santa!
No holiday experience is complete without a visit from Santa Claus! He'll be at the Holiday Lights on select dates, providing an opportunity for professional photos and photo packages. Capture the joy of the season with a memorable photo with Santa!
Santa Dates: Nov. 28-29, Dec. 5-7, Dec. 12-14, Dec. 18-23.
Santa Photo Packages
- Photo packages are $25 per package and there are three to choose from. You can combine two packages for $40.
- One digital image is $30. All digital images is $50. You can combine all the digital images with one photo package for $65.

As we gear up for this year’s Holiday Lights on the River, we’re excited to announce some changes designed to improve your visit and manage wait times more effectively. By leveraging historical attendance data, we’ve implemented a new system that categorizes event nights into Green, Yellow, and Red.
Ticket Pricing and Purchase
To make your experience even better, admission prices will vary based on the night. By purchasing tickets for Green or Yellow nights, not only will you save money, but you’ll also enjoy a more relaxed visit with lighter traffic and shorter wait times.
Important Note: Tickets purchased in advance are only valid for the specific night they are bought. Please keep in mind that we do not offer refunds or transfers, so plan your visit carefully!
